About Me

Angie Reid

Painter | Fine Artist

I am an artist living in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I am an oil painter, but I occasionally work in watercolour and ink. I enjoy making landscape and still-life paintings that explore personal relationships, memories, and evoke feelings of nostalgia.

I was born in Whitehorse, Yukon, grew up in Nova Scotia, and have lived in Downtown Dartmouth since 2009. I explored oil painting as a child but stepped away from it in my young adult life to focus on my career as a marketing strategist.

I returned to painting in my 30s to escape the stresses of a demanding day job, and in 2021, I decided to step back from marketing to fulfil a lifelong dream of pursuing my Bachelor of Fine Arts at NSCAD University which I achieved in 2024. I graduated with honours, earned a nomination for valedictorian, and obtained an Arthur Lismer Award for Academic Excellence.

In addition to my BFA, I hold a Bachelor of Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Acadia University. I am also a board member of Visual Arts Nova Scotia and volunteer with The Craig Gallery Steering Committee.

You can see more of my work on view at the Woodlawn Library (March-July 2024), The Dart Gallery on Portland Street, and The August House in Windsor.
